Service
When a tooth is lost or so severely damaged that it can no longer be preserved, modern restorative dentistry offers a wide range of high-quality solutions to fully restore function, aesthetics and quality of life. At the dental practice of Dr. Stephan Jansen in Gelnhausen, we provide individual and comprehensive guidance on all prosthetic options — from fixed ceramic crowns through high-quality dentures to implant-supported restorations. Our goal is to find the optimal solution for every patient: functionally reliable, naturally crafted and tailored to your personal circumstances.
Fixed Dental Prosthetics: Crowns and Bridges
Fixed dental prosthetics are permanently anchored in the mouth and cannot be removed. They offer maximum wearing comfort and a chewing function that closely matches that of the natural tooth. The most common forms are the dental crown — a cap for a severely damaged tooth or one that has been treated with root canal therapy — and the bridge, which spans a gap by being supported on the neighbouring teeth.
For both types of restoration, we preferentially use all-ceramic materials, which enable metal-free dental prosthetics of the highest aesthetic quality. High-performance ceramics such as zirconia and lithium disilicate are not only exceptionally fracture-resistant, but also deceptively similar to natural tooth enamel in their translucency. The result: crowns and bridges that integrate harmoniously into your natural dentition and are barely distinguishable from real teeth — even upon close inspection by a specialist.
- All-ceramic crowns made from zirconia or lithium disilicate — metal-free aesthetics with maximum strength
- Ceramic bridges for single or multiple missing teeth — gentle and true-to-nature
- Telescopic crowns as a connecting element between fixed and removable prosthetics
- Provisional restorations during the treatment phase — so you are never without dental coverage
Removable Dental Prosthetics: Dentures and Combined Restorations
When many or all teeth are missing, or when a fixed restoration is not feasible for anatomical or economic reasons, removable prosthetics offer a proven and comfortable alternative. Modern dentures — whether partial or complete — are crafted with the utmost care in collaboration with specialised dental laboratories and individually adapted to your jaw anatomy.
A particularly elegant solution is the telescopic denture: it combines the convenience of removable wear with the secure hold of fixed elements. Individual telescopic crowns on the remaining natural teeth or on implants serve as primary crowns, onto which the denture fits precisely via its secondary crowns. The result is an exceptionally stable, discreet fit and a natural aesthetic — without visible clasps or hooks.
- Partial dentures for individual or multiple missing teeth — with aesthetic retentive elements
- Complete dentures for full edentulism — custom fabrication for a secure fit
- Telescopic dentures for maximum stability without visible clasps
- Implant-retained overdentures — removable yet firmly anchored
Implant-Supported Prosthetics and Our Quality Standards
The highest-quality and most durable form of dental replacement is the implant-supported restoration. A titanium implant takes over the function of the natural tooth root: it is inserted into the jawbone, integrates permanently and subsequently serves as a stable base for a crown, bridge or denture. Because the implant actively stimulates the jawbone, it prevents the bone resorption that inevitably sets in after tooth loss — a decisive advantage over all other forms of dental replacement.
The quality standards of our practice are reflected not only in careful treatment planning and execution, but also in our close collaboration with specialised dental laboratories that fabricate prosthetics to our precise specifications at the highest level of craftsmanship. Every crown, every bridge and every denture that leaves our practice is the result of a coordinated process of diagnostics, treatment and dental technology — for a result you can see, feel and enjoy.
