Implantology

Permanently replacing missing teeth with a stable root-like foundation — for chewing function, aesthetics and quality of life you can feel every day.

A missing tooth is far more than an aesthetic concern. Without a tooth root, the jawbone measurably deteriorates over the years, neighbouring teeth tip into the gap, chewing function suffers and dietary habits change involuntarily. Dental implants are today the scientifically recognised gold standard for permanent tooth replacement: they fully replace the natural tooth root, provide biological stimulation to the bone, and enable fixed restorations that are virtually indistinguishable from real teeth in both function and appearance. At our dental practice in Gelnhausen, we accompany you from the initial consultation through surgical implant placement to prosthetic restoration and long-term aftercare — everything from a single source.

Implants — How They Work and What We Offer

Modern titanium implants are made from a biocompatible titanium alloy that integrates firmly with the jawbone within a few weeks — a biological process known as osseointegration. This natural bond gives the implant exceptional stability and longevity; clinical studies report survival rates of over 95% after ten years. Once the implant has fully integrated, an individually crafted crown, bridge or denture is attached to it, aesthetically and functionally tailored precisely to your dentition.

  • Titanium Implants (Osseointegration): High-quality screw implants made from medical-grade pure titanium or titanium alloy that, after a healing period of eight to twelve weeks, form a solid, permanently load-bearing anchorage in the jawbone.
  • Immediate Implantation: In suitable cases, the implant can be placed directly into the fresh socket immediately after tooth extraction. This significantly shortens the overall treatment time and optimally preserves the surrounding soft tissue.
  • Bone Augmentation: Where insufficient bone volume is present, modern augmentation techniques using autologous bone or high-quality bone substitute materials still make successful implantation possible — even in cases of long-standing tooth loss.
  • Implant-Supported Prosthetics: Whether a single crown, an implant-supported bridge or a removable denture with implant retention (bar or ball attachment) — we work with you to select the prosthetic solution that best suits your lifestyle and dental requirements.
  • Ceramic Implants (Zirconia): For patients with metal sensitivity, we offer metal-free alternatives made from high-strength zirconia on request — tooth-coloured, biocompatible and aesthetically sophisticated.

Treatment Process and Aftercare

Before the actual implant placement, a thorough planning phase takes place: digital X-rays and — where indicated — a three-dimensional CBCT scan provide us with precise information about bone density, height and width, as well as the location of anatomical structures such as the inferior alveolar nerve or the maxillary sinuses. Based on this data, we plan the optimal implant position on the computer, which significantly increases surgical precision and safety.

The surgical procedure itself is performed under local anaesthesia and is generally experienced by our patients as causing little discomfort. On request, we offer accompanying sedation options that ensure deep relaxation throughout the treatment. After the healing phase, our practice team takes care of fabricating and fitting the definitive restoration as well as providing regular implantological follow-up care to safeguard the long-term stability of your implants.

  • Comprehensive digital implant planning with 3D radiographic diagnostics
  • Gentle implant placement under local anaesthesia or sedation
  • Individually crafted implant crowns, bridges and dentures from the dental laboratory
  • Structured aftercare planning and regular recall examinations
  • Close collaboration with specialist colleagues for complex cases
